When They Find Us

The Brief

Turning a former hair salon into Paragon Café’s new home in the centre of Vancouver’s Cambie Village neighbourhood. As the building in which the space is located is expected to be redeveloped, the goal was to accomplish the rehaul without installing expensive finishes that will end up as construction waste in just a few years.

Sustainability

The client wished to salvage and reuse some of the millwork previously designed by Haeccity in their current location. The new design incorporated parts of the custom-made counter used in their previous location, with its bamboo plywood finish and copper screen details. Paragon Café’s colour scheme of dark green, caramels, and copper tones is used throughout the project on millwork and finishes.

Branding

Haeccity worked with the client to explore opportunities to maintain the branding identity developed for Paragon Tea Room’s previous location. One of the ways this was done was by sourcing a wallpaper option that invoked similarities with both the dark green colour and the geometric design present on the café’s logo.
