The Brief
100In1Day Canada inspires residents to activate 100 innovative, thought-provoking ideas into interventions to transform their city all on one day.
But the impact of 100In1Day Canada extends beyond June. It inspires people to act and even support policy change, innovation and transformation in their cities by scaling of temporary actions into longstanding projects.
Silver Lining Installation
This art installation was developed as a canopy for an outdoor group meditation event held on Vancouver’s inaugural 100 in 1 Day.
The floating installation can be seen as an extension of the tree canopy above and a reflection of the ground below, dissolving into the space it defines.
Helium-filled balloons are suspended in a grid connected to a grove of trees. This structure-less intervention allows the free-flow of people beneath while subverting the need for municipal permits.
